My internet is down again!!!!!!!!

**SIGH**......My internet is down again and this time for close to 1 week liao. Aiyo..why does this always happen to me. For those who don't know me, i am very dependent on my internet cos that is my only source of entertainment at home. I don't usually go out much cos i am broke most of the time. Even when during my richer days, my friends will all be occupied with their own affairs. Kind of lonely leh. Maybe time to get a GF and settle down. Hmmm...but no one want me leh..and thats what i reply when my friends ask me why i don't have a GF yet...haha...Maybe it is just not my time yet lah....Sigh...

Anyway, back to my internet. It was down on last Wednesday. It is already showing some problems when i try to connect that morning before i leave for work. But it got disconnected every 5 mins. Got fedup and switch it off and leave for work. By the time i got back that noon, my sister is already complaining to me that she can't even get it connected. I check the hardware connection and everything seem to be alright. I saw the "WAN" light keep blinking and thought maybe my modem cable is spolit and went to buy one to make a replacement but it is still the same. In the end, i surrender and called Singnet BoardBand HelpDesk. After waiting like 5 mins, i finally spoke to the operator. I told him that I had connection problem and that the "WAN" on my modem is blinking. They said that it might be a problem with my home line and request to send a technician down to check. We make an appointment on Friday 4pm to 6pm.

Then the next day, when i came home from work again, I went to try out the modem again by switching on it and see if it can be stable. Surprisingly, the "WAN" light is stable and not blinking. I immediately try to connect to intenet with my rounter connected to it but it don't work. I called Singnet again and explained the stituation to them.They advised me to bypass the router and connect the modem directly to my computer. I did and it work. So they say for the time being i can use the internet like that while waiting the technician to come and check my line. Everything went well and by Friday it is still alright. So i though maybe something is wrong with my router. After the technician come and checked on my line and comfirm that it is working well, i call Singnet again asking for help. They offer the same theory that something is wrong with my router configuration and asked me to check the configuration and try it out first. As i could not find my router manual, i could not check the configuration as i do not know how. I thought of asking my father where he keep the manual when he come home from work at night and leave it as it is for the time being. Although i did managed to get hold on the manual later at night, i still do not know how to check the configuration. So i thought of asking my Dad to arrange for his friend who setup our house wireless connection to come and help. Thus, for the time being again, i had to leave it as it is.

Then Saturaday came and when i woke up in the morning, my sister complained that the "WAN" light is blinking again and thus no connection again. Later that day, i got a call from Singnet Helpdesk to do a follow up on my case and i complained to them that the line when dead again. They said they want to do a "ping" for my line but as i was not at home at that time, they had request me to call them again after i reached home. I thought i might as well monitor the case for 1 day to see if the line come back again as it did during the first time it failed. So by Sunday, the line is still the same. I give up and called Singnet again. After telling them everything again and offer my theory to them that the fault was intermitant and they will not find any fault when they came last time cos the faukt is not there at that point of time. They operator did not what to do next and seek help from his Supervisor. His Supervisor request to send technician down again to check my line and it is arrange to be on Tuesday 4pm to 6pm. Lets hope I get some answer to the fault this time.

Out of curiousity, anyone using Singnet Boardband out there? Did anyone encounter problem like after you are connected and start using for 5 mins and the most 1 hour, the connection seem to be disconnected although it is shown at the bottom right corner by the small computer that it is connected. You will not be able to surf, download emails, MSN, ICQ, etc. You will have to reboot the computer and modem for it to work again and it will happen again after 5 mins to 1 hour. I was offered many theories like not compatible to Win XP, kana virus, etc. Anyone had this happened to you like me? Then after i changed to wireless connecting my main PC to my laptop and another PC in my dad's room, i will ahd to reboot at least 3 times before the connection get working again and it would last only 1 to 2 hours the most before it got disconnected again. Any IT experts out there who can offer some help to my problems? Or anyone who had similar fate and had a solution to it already?

Anyway, thank you in advance to those who had already offer to help or advise after reading this long and naggy entry.Haha.

Car Accident!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sigh...I am very unlucky yesterday. Two unlucky things happened. First, i had a car accident when i am at work. As i am working on a hilltop, everyday, someone from the shift on duty will have to drive the passenger van down hill to fetch our collegues from the next shift to relieve those on duty. As i want to practise my driving more, i had been going out to fetch people whenever i am on duty. I did the same yesterday. At around 3.30pm yesterday, i could not find the key to the passenger van and thought my collegues who drive the van out for lunch everyday did not return the van to building 2 but park the van at building 1. Thus i thought of driving another van which was around at that time up to building 1 to take the passenger van and also return something at the same time. But when i went out, i saw the passenger van was actually outside at the carpark and the key was left inside. So i thought since is still early and i had already took the key to another van, i might as well drive it up to return things first and then drive down again. So i did that and on my way down, the radio in the van suddenly went off and as i was driving slowly i look down to meddle with the radio switches. By the time i looked up, my van had already went up a curb and by the time i step on the brake i had already rammed onto a pole that a security camera was mounted on. The whole pole was knocked down and the junction box that house the camera plug was crashed. I immediately broke into cold sweat. As my collegue happened to be around at that time, she saw what happened and had immediately ask for hlep from the people at building 1. I was so paiseh as all the people that come and help are the senior engineers and manager. So they help me to drive the van down the curb. The front of the van was damaged. I heard that the raidator and the bumper are damaged. Also, the left light had cracked. I think the repair cost will amount up to a couple of thousands..So sad.. Although the cost can be claim from insurance, i still feel very bad about it. I think i will not drive for quite sometimes liao.Still feel very scared about it.Sigh...

Then later that night, i went for a movie with my sister. We went to watch The Myth by Jackie. So after i buy the tickets, i accompany my sister to go see doctor as her gastic is not feelig well. So while she is waiting for her turn at the clinic, i went to the ATM to draw some cash and at the same time throw away some used receipts into the waste bin beside the atm machine. Then i went back to my sis and then lata go back home first as we were watching 11.55pm show. Later at about 11.30pm, we reached the cinema. It is only now that i discovered that i lost my tickets.Haha..imagine how discourage i am as i had just had an accident during the day time. I immediately thinked where i could have dropped it. I determined 2 possible places. One is my room and another is at the atm waste bin. my sister call home to check while we proceed to the atm to check it out. As i could not open the lid at the bottom of the bin, we try to dig out all the receipts inside. I had to endures stares from people using the atm and an uncle even ask me what i am looking for. I honestly told him that i had accidentally dropped my tickets inside and he laughed. I even joked that i will not what to do if someone call the police and they arrived.Haha.But luckily we found it in the bin eventually and hurrily proceed to the cinema. Luckily i can make it in time for it.

See..Unlucky right?Hahaha

Oasis Board Game Cafe!!!!!!!

My internet and computer is down again. I was quite upset because that is my only source of entertainment when i am at home. Now that it is down, i can't update my blog, check mail and also play my online game, Maple Story.

Anyway, i try to troubleshoot the problem myself but was not successful. I got fed up and called Singnet Technical Helpdesk. After waiting for abt 10 mins, i was finally attended to by a helpdesk officer. After i provided the problem and symptoms of the fault of my internet, the helpdesk officer said that there is something wrong with my home phone line and this is not the first time this kind of thing happened. They had actually sent technician down a few times already but always can't find any wrong with it. Anyway, they had arranged people to come down again on the 23th Sept, 4pmo 6pm. Just hope that they can find the source to the problem and solve it once for all.

Back to my intended topic for this posting, I had a gathering with my friends from army time on the 20th Sept. We will meet up now and then to update each other on how we are getting on, anyone getting marry,etc..Haha..Like a bunch of uncles gossiping together. Anyway, we met at bugis Mos Burger and went over to Liang Seah Street to eat the Ma La steamboat there. In the end, only Eng Chuan did not trun up. He said he had some thing urgent to attend to. No choice lor. So we went and eat and it is quite nice and it is also quite cheap.Cost about $20 each person. By the end of the whole feasting, we were so full that we were quite reluctant to move.

As it is still early, Han Jie suggected that we went for a round 2 but not for makan. He suggested that we walk over to a Board Game Cafe next door to drink and talk. At first when he told us to play board game, we thought that he meant risk, monoploy, etc. In the end, when we went over, we found that the game they serve are those that we don't get to see locally and it has quite a varity of game to choose from. We played 2 games on total. One is a card game with bull logo on it and another is also a card game but more complicated. It is coemthing like Might and Magic. The game name is Citadels. I had intended to buy it to play at home. On the whole, it is quite entertaining. The cost is $10 for each person. The package include 1 drink, a snack for each 2 persons and 2 hours of play time for the game. The price is quite ok lah.

We left at about 11.30pm as Eddy need to go back to his office. He is working as a Banker and thus is more busy. We share a cab home together.

Snow Wolf Lake

Somthing happened when i was typing this entry and i was quite upset over it. I was about to post what i had finsih typing when my internet got disconnected. Sigh.Lost all my effort just now and had to retype all over again. Forget what i say just now already.

Anyway, i wake up early in the morning (also not that early lah.About 10.30am) to accompany my dad and sisters to pay respect to my late Granny as it is her death annivesary today. I don't know what is that place call but it is at Jalan Bukit Merah. Before we went there, we took a cab and when to one of the hawker near there to eat curry rice. Yummy. Very nice. I had been there before because my friend Han Jie and i used to frequent a store there selling Liang Tou Fu which open only at night. The dishes cost only 20 cents per piece. Very cheap and the business is good. The queue is very long. Anyway, i also discovered that the store owner for the curry rice store that we eat at use to live with my dad in the same kampong when they were young.Haha.Very nice uncle. After the makan session, we took another cab to the temple that worship my Granny. We happen to met our aunt who was getting to leave the temple for home after she pray to Granny. Anyway, she waited for us to finish and leave together. It is a long time since i see her. We only met once every new year.

After that we went home. I then start to get ready for my main program for the day. I was suppose to go and watch Snow Wolf Lake at singapore Indoor Stadium with Han Jie. But before that, we had arranged to meet with Shuan at Clementi to pass him his birthday present. We arranged to meet at a japanese resturant there which is very cheap. Cost about $4.50 on average. Anyway, Han Jie is late and i proceed there myself first and got myself the latest naruto comics on my way there. By 5.30pm, everyone is present. We start to order foods and i passed Shaun his present. We got him 2 karaok vcds as his is trying hard to learn how to sing and he did this for a girl.Haha..Never seen him so hardworking before when we ask him go sing with us. Anyway, tease him abit and after our makan session, we took a cab down to Indoor Stadium. We was there too early. Suppose to start at 8pm but we reach at 7pm instead. We went to look around and then fuound our seat. B12 Row 34 Seat 10 and 11..4D fans see any number that might interest you?..haha. Good luck anyway.

The play start at about 8.30pm and i happen to saw another friend, Zhang Hui who was there to watch the play also. What a small world. Anway, the audience is a strong crowds of about 8000 people if i didn't remember wrongly. Every seats are occupied. No wonder people say it is good and it indeed live up to its name. It is a very touching story about a poor guy in love with a girl from a rich family.But as usual, the relationship is forbidden as the lead actress mum is materialistic and wish to marry her off to another rich guy who is evil. Although the couple try hard to resist cruel fate but in vain. In the end the girl died and the poor guy carry her into the snow lake and there they rest in peace under it. The play once again prove that Jacky Zhang is indeed the God of songs. His live performance is marvelous. His voice is song solid. So is Xu Hui Xin and Chen Song Ling. Together with the beautiful lightings and staging, the 90 bucks i spent is worthly. I should have watch the cantonese version a few years back.My friend say it is even better. A pity there is not more chance.......

Anyway, I will stop here for the time been..Cya

Mine first entry!!!!!!!!!!!

Yo.Haha..Finally got my own Blog account and page. I had heard alot about it for quite some time but was lazy to get it started. Think it is the in thing nowadays huh? But anyway, finally set myself going and create my first blog. Still not very use to the controls and stuffs and thus can't really put in much designs to personalise it. I will try to master it fast and make my Blog better...OK!!!!!Enough with the craps and nagging...Think will start off will abit self introduction of myself.

I am a 26 years old individual who is still having fun exploring my life. Cannot say is a smooth one. Encounter setbacks now and then.Some are minor and some are serious which get me into some depression periods. But what to do, it is life. Think this is where life is interesting about. If one life is too smooth, won't it gets boring?Haha. Think setbacks enriches one life and better equipe that person to move on and battle the uncertainity in the long road infront. Anyway, on the whole, i am a happy man with a great family and some great friends. Thank you for standing by me and encouraging me all these times. Thanks Han Jie, Thanks Shaun, Thanks Kok Chuan, Thanks Chin Siang...Too many people to thanks. Anyway, thanks all my friends out there. (SOBZ...I so touched by what i said. Sound like i'm receiving some awards, huh?)haha.

I graduate from Ngee Ann Poly, majoring in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering. I am currently working in Mediacorp Technologies Pte Ltd. Haha..I know the responses you people out there will had when u see this...Must be thinking i will get to see alot of artists around huh?Nah.Sorry to disappoint you all, I am not station at Caldecott Boardcast Centre but at the transmission station at Bukit Batok as an Assistant Engineer. My job nature is quite relaxing. Simply to put it, i watch TV as my job.Haha..Envy leh? Well, to be in more details, i monitor the transmission of all programs send out to the residents in Singapore and make sure that there is no interruption of programs.Beside that, i also do some maintenance of the equipment there.

Although the population here is just about 33 people, the people here are all very nice. Very within to teach as long as you are willing to learn. Most of the collegues here are more senior than me by age.Think i am one of the youngest here. I am working 3 rotating shifts here: Morning (8am to 4.15pm), Noon (4pm to 12.15am) and midnight (12am to 8.15am). Each shift consides of 3 working days and i will have a day off after every shift. Timing is quite flexible but think every thing had its pros and cons. By working shift, i tend to miss out alot of gathering sessions with family and friends cos when everyone is working, i amd resting and when i am working, everyone is resting. I remember that how my grandma cried last Saturday when i visited her as she had not see me for quite some time, think a month or so. Feel so heartache to see her like that. And also, i do not ahve a girlfirend yet. With timing like that, getting to know new friends will already be diffcult, let alone looking for a girlfriend. But i guess it can't be help. Thats my job. I had just started off here at Mediacorp (5 months). Hope everything will be smooth from now on.

I guess that is pretty much all about myself. Guess will continue next time with more stories about my life. Cya.
